NSW State Library

The NSW State Library has engaged SPM to undertake an asset survey as the first stage of their asset management strategy. Both the Mitchell and MacQuarie buildings, located in the heart of Sydney, are being surveyed over a two week period using the latest Mobile forms data collection technology based on SPM Assets.

Two surveyors have assessed about 4000 components associated with well over 300 rooms. The resulting data is providing the platform for a full lifecycle model that will be used to both plan future work and to plan maintenance regimes to ensure asset related risks are known and managed.

The facility holds a collection that has a valuation in excess of $1.8 billion (excluding the buildings) and is, therefore, one of most significant facilities in New South Wales.
