SPM has recently developed and tested several web services interfaces. Web services allow any system to communicate over a network using a standardised protocol, typically SOAP over HTTP using XML.
SPM provides both standard interfaces based on SPM Assets' dataflow models and customised interfaces for more sophisticated system integrations.
SPM is currently scoping integration with SAP and other SOAP compliant systems for the purpose of providing data gathering and analysis capabilities that will enhance both integrated systems.
As a result of the development of web services integration, SPM has also built an applications stub into SPM Assets which allows external systems to directly display specified pages from SPM Assets within an external system's application.
It is envisaged that in the future SPM Assets' unique analytical processes will also be made available to external systems using web services.
